    Oh Baby! Maternity Portraits

I spent a very hot lunch hour with Gaby last week to do maternity portraits. It took us about 10 minutes for the whole session, and I worried every minute that the heat was too much for Gaby at nine months pregnant. I do believe it got over 100 degrees that day, like most days here in DFW lately. Gaby was "ready to pop" - her words, not mine! She looked beautiful in the way only expectant mother's can...full of anticipation to welcome her second child into the family. Three days later, she gave birth to little Miranda! Both mommy and baby are doing well and were able to go home from the hospital today.
I can't wait to meet and photograph Miranda. Congratulations!!

    Swimmin' & Fishin'

Swim. Fish. Swim some more. Take a break for dinner. Pose for pictures...impatiently. Swim again.
These two cute kiddos are my friend Tracy's boys, Brock and Cale. They come and spend a day at the lake with us every summer...our vacation would not be the same without them. My nieces are absolutely smitten with them both. They are natural flirts, it's so cute! Just think Mom, less than 10 years from now they'll be teenagers! LOL

    Hangin' on the Waverunner

I love this one...I asked Brock what he was pointing at and he said "I'm pretending to see a huge wave."

Taking a flying leap. Hi Mom!

    Time Flies

This is my cutie pie niece, Samantha. She is 10 years old, almost 11, and I can hardly believe it! Seems like just yesterday Sami was born. Sami lives in Minnesota with her parents and most years I only get to see her during our annual visit up north...I swear she grows a foot every year.

The horse flies were biting like crazy the morning we did her session...but once again I had a fantastic subject that tried very hard to not let it get to her. I think the photographer was swatting the flies more than Sami was! We also managed to get a cute one of her on the beach...it portrays the very essence of summer, I think.

    Miss you, Sami girl!!

Land of 10,000 Blonde Children - Marcy Jordan Photography

It's true, Minnesota is filled with blondies. I was one of them once upon a time...still am, with a little help from Miss Clairol. :-)

Jen is one of my dearest friends from high school. She and her husband, Brad, asked me to stop by for a family session with them and their two beautiful daughters, Jordan and Kayla (hope I spelled that right, Jen!).

Here's a little peek for you guys, I promise to have the rest ready soon.

    The Lake House

Ahhh! We just returned from our annual summer vacation to my parents' lake house in Minnesota. I grew up in the Land of 10,000 Lakes... and although I enjoy the great state of Texas most of the year, I have a hard time appreciating the heat down here. It's just too much for my northern blood. So my great escape is a week back home, enjoying my family's company and the (usually) fantastic weather.

My parents live on Green Lake in Spicer, MN. The lake is typically clear, cool and gorgeous. Last week was no exception. We did have a couple of days in the 90's, but we also had a few in the 70's. Here are a few of my favorite scenic pics from this year's visit...people pics will follow in the next entry. :-)

Sunrise - the lake was like glass that morning.
