Last Gasp {Southlake, TX Family Photographer}

Well, winter has finally hit us here in north Texas. Last night the temps fell down into the low 20's...pretty darn cold for this part of the country!

But just last weekend, I captured this photo in a beautiful garden in Southlake. One of nature's last gasps of warm weather, I suppose.



Being a native Minnesotan, this colder weather has gotten me ready for some snow...bring it on! :-)

Spring!

At this very moment, the weather is turning cooler than it has been for the last few days and it's raining. But just two days ago, it was 85 and sunny and a drive in the country with my husband revealed that spring is almost here. The trees are blooming....



And so are the weeds...but even the weeds are beautiful in the spring, don't you think?

The Lake House

Ahhh! We just returned from our annual summer vacation to my parents' lake house in Minnesota. I grew up in the Land of 10,000 Lakes... and although I enjoy the great state of Texas most of the year, I have a hard time appreciating the heat down here. It's just too much for my northern blood. So my great escape is a week back home, enjoying my family's company and the (usually) fantastic weather.

My parents live on Green Lake in Spicer, MN. The lake is typically clear, cool and gorgeous. Last week was no exception. We did have a couple of days in the 90's, but we also had a few in the 70's. Here are a few of my favorite scenic pics from this year's visit...people pics will follow in the next entry. :-)
