    MERRY {Wylie, TX Photographer}

    This will (possibly) be my last post on the old blog. I'll be beginning the new year with a new one, which I will link here when it is up and running. I'm really excited about it and I hope you will enjoy it!

    And speaking of hope....I hope each and every one of you has a wonderful Christmas and New Year's! I'll be announcing a winter special soon on the new blog, so stay tuned!

    In The Mood {Grapevine, TX Family Photographer}

    I've been so busy the last two months with holiday sessions that I haven't had much time to get ready for Christmas. Just as it probably is with you and your family, things get a little crazy around the holidays and we sometimes let the stress of all our responsibilities interfere with our enjoyment of the season.

    Now that things have slowed down a bit here at MJP, I'm taking advantage and spending extra time with my family doing fun holiday activities.

    Here's a small sample of the images I've taken in the last few weeks....I hope it helps get you in the mood for the Christmas season!

    Last Gasp {Southlake, TX Family Photographer}

    Well, winter has finally hit us here in north Texas. Last night the temps fell down into the low 20's...pretty darn cold for this part of the country!

    But just last weekend, I captured this photo in a beautiful garden in Southlake. One of nature's last gasps of warm weather, I suppose.

    Being a native Minnesotan, this colder weather has gotten me ready for some snow...bring it on! :-)

    THANKS {Little Elm Family Photographer}

    I hope everyone had a very happy Thanksgiving holiday!

    I'd like to take this time to thank all of my wonderful clients for an absolutely fabulous year here at MJP. I appreciate each and every one of you and I cherish the new friendships I have made with you. I look forward to working together again in 2010!

    And because I know they are anxious to see them, here is one little peak at the W family's portrait session from last weekend.

    For each new morning with its light,
    For rest and shelter of the night,
    For health and food,
    For love and friends,
    For everything Thy goodness sends.

    LITTLE LADY {Wylie, TX Children's Photographer}

    Introducing the most adorable ladybug in Texas....

    Little Miss Emma's mommy won the 2009 MJP Halloween Giveaway and I am finally getting a moment to share some of the cuteness from our session a few weeks ago.

    Oh boy...the wings, the cheeks, the smile...
    So much cute!

    Apparently ladybugs have really tasty fingers...

    Too much cute!!

    P.S. I've only got a couple more spots open for holiday sessions...call or email and ask me about my procrastinator's special! :-)

    ROYALTY {Fort Worth Senior Photographer}

    So I've noticed a trend in Senior Photography. Girls love it. Can't wait to get their portraits done. Can't wait to see the results. Boys, on the other hand...well, they can take it or leave it in most cases. My own son is a perfect example. He is a Senior this year and I can't seem to figure out the right bribe to get him to spend a day in front of the camera with me. :-)

    And so when it was time to meet up with Blake and his lovely mom, Jennifer, for his Senior Rep mini-session, I figured I'd get an enthusiastic parent with a reluctant son (like mine!) dragging behind.

    Well let me tell y'all...Blake surprised me. First of all, he was about as handsome a young man as a photographer could wish for. And polite! Everything was "yes ma'am" and "no problem" and "whatever you want me to do". Blake was so agreeable and although I'm sure getting his picture taken at 8am on a weekend was not high on his list of favorite things to do, I'd have never known it.

    I found out last week that Blake was nominated to the Homecoming Court at his high school, W.E. Boswell H.S. in Fort Worth. Congratulations Blake!

    Stay tuned for more of Blake in the near future....

    PIXIES {College Station Children's Photographer}

    I think the title of this blog completely sums up this session.

    Pixies. All three of them. Completely adorable pixies.

    The girls Grandparents asked me to come out to their home to capture some images of their three lovely little granddaughters. It was a hot and sunny Texas day and the girls were ready to play! Thank goodness for their mommies, who kept them busy with singing (itsby bitsy spider) and playing games (simon says) while I snapped away...mommies really are unsung heroes, aren't they? :-)

    I love this series....can't you just see the mischief in their sparkling eyes?

    I had so much fun with this trio of beauties. A special thanks goes out to each of them for getting me to (literally) run around for a couple hours...I needed the exercise! (I also needed the nap afterwards!)

    Here's one last photo I had to share....it was just too adorable not to post!

    Beautiful Briana - Fort Worth Senior Photographer

    I'm working on catching up on my blogging...seems like I'm always getting behind! But being too busy to blog is a good thing, because it means I'm out there photographing my wonderful clients!

    Briana is one of those clients...she is a 2010 Senior and she is absolutely beautiful, inside and out.

    These photos are from her mini-session. We went to a little park that had a pond and lots of ducks, which Briana loved. In fact, she was so interested in the ducks, she kept forgetting she was having her picture taken!

    I can't wait for my full Senior session with Briana, which is coming up soon!

    LOVE - Irving Engagement Photographer

    It was hot.
    It was a "100 degrees at 6:30pm" kind of hot.
    But you can't tell by looking at their photos....

    Isn't love amazing?

    Congratulations, Casey and Hayley, on your engagement!

    Wishing you a wonderful beginning on your journey through life together.

    One Word Says It All....

    Wow.

    Just a peak at one of Heather's portraits from her MJP mini-session last weekend.

    I'll have more soon...I just couldn't wait to post this one!

    Secret Senior Location! - Wylie Senior Photographer

    Over the last couple of years, I've found some really fantastic locations in the DFW Metroplex for portrait sessions. I've gotten so addicted to looking for out of the way little spots, that now my poor husband has to do all the driving so that I can scout out more.

    The other day, we took a leisurely drive and suddenly there it was...the cutest little building. Empty and somewhat neglected and totally out of the way. I begged my husband to do some digging and see if he couldn't get permission to shoot there. And guess what? He totally did! This is officially my new favorite spot for portraits.

    And no way am I telling you where it is. :-) It's my little secret. Well, mine and Kathrynne's....

    Kathrynne is one of my 2010 Wylie Senior Reps and we met up at my super secret location last weekend for her mini-session. I told her that when her friends ask where we took her photos, she can only say "You can find out if you book a session with MJP." :-)

    Look at that smile...she's totally keeping my secret.

    The light was just delicious and Kathrynne was beautiful...

    P.S. I still need a few Senior Reps in Plano, Frisco, McKinney and Allen ISD...sign up here! http://seniors.marcyjordanportraits.com/
